Peter Flemons

Sad news – Peter Flemons passed away on January 23, 2026 at the age of 67.

We first met in 1997 when he was the convenor for Peterborough YMCA Volleyball. When we started XY Volleyball League, we asked Peter to be our “assistant” and he was integral to our operations for almost 20 years! He kept the games running smoothly by making sure teams were on the right court and tracked the standings. He only had to be introduced to you once and he would know who you were next time. Peter was the perfect ambassador for XY Volleyball League!

In the summer months, Peter helped with Senior Mens & Ladies Slo-Pitch and he volunteered year round for many charities, community events, and at Mapleridge & Activity Haven. He loved playing cards, bowling, the Blue Jays, Collective Soul and could tell you what movies were playing and what blockbuster would be next in addition to his reviews!

He will be missed and will live on in our memories.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring. Once details are known, they will be posted here.

• It is your responsibility to ensure the rules are upheld, particularly the house league rule that plays below the waist will be called dead for safety. Click here to view the rules.
• We know everyone misses Peter but please mark your wins on Courts A & B by circling your team number on the schedule posted on the double gym doors. If they are not recorded, the games will be scored as defaults earning zero points for each team.
